Oh what do you do in the Summer time...when it's Hot and Sweaty outside?

I have decided that Gwyn is little princess 2 in our home for now...she loves beads and crowns and will put them on herself and keep them on.

So to beat the heat today we did a Danes dairy run...we got one ice cream and shared it...and you'll never guess the first thing Abbi said to Dad when he called "You might cry dad...we went to Dane's dairy with out you!" then she left the room so I couldn't hear the rest of her phone conversation but I'm pretty sure it included some consoling words like we can go again soon.
They have some new lawn ornaments which were quite exciting for the girls...a horse, geese, and cows. Thank goodness for ice cream on hot days!

County Fair

We had our local Johnson County fair last week...so for "forced family fun" we joined the crowds of people and stink of animals to enjoy the sites of the fair. The girls got to pet some bunnies, step in some cow pies, and we watched some horse competition. I really enjoyed it.

The tractor display was the hit of the night the girls had a blast trying out as many tractor/lawnmower/big machine type thing they could get their hands on.

For the splurge of the night we bought some ice cream and shared...cookie dough (Abbi's all time favorite) and blueberry cheesecake
The mommy daddy photo of the night...isn't he Hot!
We're still madly in love even after 3 children and 6 years of
living with each other! Ha Ha

First Visit to "Daddy's Work"

So since Dan has started his new "job" the girls have been so anxious to visit him in the hospital. He was on call last Sunday so the girls and I finally got to visit him in his "Office" we brought a treat to share and enjoyed dad for a minute...till he got paged!
I went crazy and made 2 batches of bread in an attempt to try a new recipe... it was tasty and we ended up feeding several neighbors and friends with all the bread it made. The girls love making "birthday cakes" with their dough allotment.

Nauvoo Pagent

So this weekend we went to Nauvoo to enjoy the temple and the Pageant...while Dad was in the temple us girls went to the Mississippi "just like grandma Hatch did" last month with the girls.
The pageant was so great and Abbi just loved it...she watched the whole thing then asked if she could meet some of the cast so we got a couple of pics with the cast this was an "extra"
This was Parley P. Pratt one of the main characters he's been in the show for the last 4 years and is from Orem Utah.
The festivities before were fun this year the girls got to color pictures and watch puppet shows and learn a Scottish dance.

Abbi and Elli at the Mississippi River.

HOME MADE PUPPETS CAN IT GET ANY BETTER

ABIGAIL'S PUPPET..."PAUL"
ELLINOR'S PUPPET "MERMAID"
THE SHOW "DON'T BE SELFISH"
MOMMY'S PUPPET... I HAVEN'T NAMED IT YET!
WE HAD SOME FRIENDS OVER AND WE ALL MADE PUPPETS
THEN WE HAD A PERFORMANCE DONE IN THE PLAY HOUSE.
THE PLAY WAS WRITTEN AND PRODUCED BY ABBI ROSE WITH GREAT
SUPPORTING ACTRESS ELLI KRISTINE.

Polk -a- dots and Pretty girls!

The girls all dressed for church on sunday with time to spare for some pics!

Don't worry Gwyneth matched with her pink polk-a-dots but she was napping!

Mud Anyone?

On the 16th of July we had a "MUD PARTY" in our back yard... we have a back yard hooray!
This is what happened from the time I left the yard and went inside to grab something...they went from semi clean to wiping dirt on each other. The joys of childhood.
I love being a MOM!
Even the part that includes getting the mud out of really muddy clothes!
Gwyneth's first piggy tails arn't they Sweet!
July 19th Daddy finally (wink wink) built our new playhouse (thanks grandma &pa Whitney). The box said it would take two semi-skilled people 6-8 hours to build and we did it in 4 hours .

What time is it?...Summer time

July 9th we went to stories in the Park... then we had a fabulous cooking show with zee best hosts in the midwest!

Elli is saying :

" I'm Dirty!"

Our 4th of July began with red white & blue pancakes!

We attempted the parade with out Dad who was experiencing his first day of Call at the hospital

The day ended with some back yard swimming and sparklers we got at the parade!

On July 8th we had a crazy rain storm...we took full advantage and ran outside to our hearts content! Abbi and Elli and I were drenched!
